Simon Hill began his career with a deep interest in the physiology and anatomy underpinning optimal athletic performance. He completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2018 and immediately began working as a sports physiotherapist in Melbourne, both at a leading private practice and with professional AFL and VFL footballers.
Motivated by his father’s heart attack, Hill shifted his focus toward the role of nutrition in disease prevention and long-term health. Concerned by misinformation and trends within the wellness industry, he completed a Master of Science in Human Nutrition at Deakin University. He later returned to academia, earning a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from Cornell University and commencing a further master’s degree in nutrition.
During this period, Hill launched The Proof podcast, where he hosts in-depth conversations with world-leading scientists, doctors, and public figures to explore the lifestyle factors that shape human health. The podcast has since surpassed 40 million listens worldwide and has become a trusted platform for evidence-based discussions on nutrition, longevity, and well-being.
Hill is the author of The Proof Is in the Plants, which advocates for a plant-rich diet grounded in current nutrition science. The book debuted as the #1 non-fiction title in Australia, became a New York Times bestseller, and received an 84% overall rating from Red Pen Reviews.
Alongside his media work, Hill conducts immersive longevity experiences aimed at empowering people to live better for longer. He remains actively involved in research investigating the links between nutrition and mental health. He is the plant-based food contributor to Chris Hemsworth’s fitness app, Centr, and serves on the Scientific Advisory Boards of IM8 and 38Tera, supporting evidence-based innovation in health and supplementation.
