Discovered while still in high school, Arizona Muse rose to international prominence in September 2010 when she opened and closed the Prada Spring/Summer 2011 runway show. She has since been photographed by many of the industry’s most influential creatives and has appeared on the covers of numerous international editions of Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. Her career includes leading global campaigns for Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Chloé, Chopard, and Estée Lauder.
Muse’s commitment to sustainability was sparked by a formative encounter at a Synchronicity Earth charity luncheon focused on biodiversity preservation. This experience introduced her to the complexity and fragility of global ecosystems and marked the beginning of her transition from model to environmental advocate. In 2021, she founded DIRT, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to transforming the fashion industry through advocacy, education, and fundraising for regenerative projects. DIRT supports initiatives such as biodynamic farming, reforestation projects in the Philippines, and biodynamic training workshops for Egyptian cotton farmers. Key collaborators and funders include Weleda, Anya Hindmarch, and the jewellery brand Vrai.
DIRT is also developing a new textile standards scheme in partnership with certification body Demeter, aiming to introduce a biodynamic seal of approval for fashion, an approach long established in wine and food, but still largely absent from clothing. Beyond DIRT, Muse has collaborated with organisations including Greenpeace and the United Nations (UNDP, UNEP, and FAO).
Today, Arizona Muse is recognised as one of the fashion industry’s leading voices on sustainability and environmental regeneration. Alongside her modelling work including starring in Mango’s first ecological collection, she consults with fashion and beauty brands to help embed sustainable practices into their core strategies. She sits on the advisory board of The Sustainable Angle, supports initiatives such as Fashion Revolution and the Green Carpet Challenge, and continues to advocate for systemic change within the global fashion industry.
