Jennifer Zhu Scott's Biography

Jennifer Zhu Scott is the Founding Partner of IN. Capital, a digital-forward platform focused on AI and deep tech investments and incubation.

She was previously Executive Chairman of The Commons Project, a non-profit public trust that co-developed SMART Health Cards – an immunisation data standard which both Apple and Google adopted.

Back in 2013, the World Economic Forum profiled Jen Zhu Scott as a Young Global Leader. Similarly, she was listed among Forbes World's Top 50 Women in Tech in 2018 and named one of The Most Influential Businesswomen in China by Fortune in 2021.

Alongside a successful career, Scott is a China fellow of the Aspen Institute and holds a dual fellowship at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), under the Asia-Pacific Programme and the Digital Society Initiative.

As well as advising the World Economic Forum on their Data Policy Council, the China Council and the Future of Blockchain Council, Scott is a board trustee of Web Science Trust and an investment committee member of Investcorp's eLydian Fund.

Currently, Jen Zhu Scott is Asia’s leading voice on AI, web3, data ownership, and China’s digital monetary strategies. Meanwhile, she co-chaired the Fortune Global Tech Forum in 2019.

A highly sought after public speaker – her TED Talk on data ownership alone has more than 3.37m views – Jen Zhu Scott has spoken at prestigious universities and world stages including Springer Nature Group’s Leadership Summit in Athens and ULI Asia Pacific Summit.

Scott majored in applied mathematics at Sichuan University and holds an MBA in finance from Manchester Business School. She completed the public policy and leadership programs at Yale University in 2013, Harvard Kennedy School in 2016, and Oxford University in 2017. Then, in 2018 she joined Princeton University’s inaugural executive education program focused on energy sustainability and leadership.
