Zhengyu Huang

Zhengyu Huang is a globally recognised thinker on AI, education, innovation, and the future of US–China relations. He explores how societies compete, attract talent, and sustain leadership in an age of technological disruption.
Speaker Topics

Zhengyu Huang was the youngest Managing Director in the history of Intel Corporation. He led negotiations with the Chinese government on intellectual property and 4G partnerships as technology and geopolitics became increasingly intertwined.

Later, he served as a White House Fellow under President Barack Obama and worked as Special Assistant to the Administrator at USAID. It was there that he gained firsthand insight into the machinery of American leadership.

After completing his fellowship in 2011, Huang founded a fintech company in Shanghai. Then ran a nationwide Montessori education network in the United States. Later, he became President of Committee of 100 during one of the most fragile periods in modern US-China relations. Huang led efforts to advance Chinese American inclusion while advocating for a more constructive relationship between the world’s two largest powers.

Over the years, Huang Zhengyu has become an increasingly influential voice on artificial intelligence and education. While many frame AI through fear or disruption, he focuses on what it reveals about societies themselves. He argues that nations cannot hope to lead in AI while shutting themselves off from global talent, creativity, and intellectual openness.

In his view, fear-based policies risk driving away the very people who fuel innovation.

Today, Huang Zhengyu serves as Chairman of Yu Capital, an education-focused investment firm working with some of the largest Montessori operators in the US. He sees education as the foundation beneath economic competitiveness, social mobility, innovation, and national resilience.

Huang is the author of five books, including Rethinking China, which explores how America can sustain long-term leadership in an increasingly multipolar world. His global perspective gives his work unusual nuance at a time when conversations around China, AI, and geopolitics often become simplistic or polarised.

As a speaker, Huang Zhengyu challenges audiences to think beyond headlines and political cycles. He speaks about AI not simply as a technological shift, but as a test of societal adaptability. He discusses geopolitics through the lens of talent, education, and innovation.
