Speaker Topics
The energy transition is often discussed in terms of technology. Yasin Kasirga argues that its success will ultimately depend on leadership, execution, and the ability to balance competing priorities. An energy executive and advisor to the COP28 Presidency, he brings firsthand experience across the infrastructure projects, emerging technologies, and policy initiatives shaping the global journey to Net Zero.
Today, Kasirga leads decarbonisation initiatives across the Middle East and Africa at GE Vernova. He works with governments, utilities, and industrial leaders to deploy low-carbon solutions at scale. His expertise spans renewable energy, hydrogen, carbon capture, and direct air capture.
Importantly, Yasin Kasirga approaches decarbonisation as both an engineering and leadership challenge. Over the course of his career, he has helped develop and deliver more than 11 GW of power capacity across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His experience spans gas, hydro, solar, geothermal, and wind energy. He has also worked on more than 25 wind farms, giving him a practical understanding of how major energy projects move from ambition to execution.
Beyond project delivery, Kasirga has helped shape the global climate agenda. As Senior Energy Advisor to the COP28 Presidency, he contributed to the landmark pledge to triple renewable energy capacity and double energy efficiency by 2030. He also supported key initiatives such as the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter and the Industrial Transition Accelerator. As a result, he brings a rare perspective from both the project site and the policy table.
Organisations turn to Kasirga for insight on the realities of the energy transition. He speaks on decarbonisation, climate leadership, energy security, and emerging technologies. Rather than focusing on theory alone, he helps audiences understand the trade-offs, opportunities, and decisions that will define the path to Net Zero.
Yasin Kasirga is a PhD candidate researching stakeholder engagement and carbon management in Net Zero energy projects. He is also an active mentor and sustainability advocate. Through his work with youth and professional communities, he helps develop the next generation of climate and energy leaders.
