Victor Riparbelli

Victor Riparbelli is the Co-Founder and CEO of Synthesia, the world’s leading AI-powered video generation platform. A technology entrepreneur for over a decade, he co-founded Synthesia in 2017 and has since led the company’s growth at the forefront of generative AI and video innovation.

Victor Riparbelli  formally entered the technology and marketing space as the founder of RBLI, a digital strategy consultancy where he advised Danish advertising agencies and e-commerce companies on SEO, content strategy, and paid acquisition. From 2014 to 2016, he joined Founders, the largest startup studio in the Nordics, focusing on growth and product marketing initiatives across its portfolio.

Building on his interest in emerging technologies, he later established Immersive Futures, a consultancy specialising in machine vision, virtual and augmented reality, and machine learning. Through this venture, he collaborated with the UK government to support the development of the UK’s VR/AR ecosystem. In 2017, he co-founded Coincall, a cryptocurrency portfolio tracking platform that was successfully acquired in 2019.

Driven by a long-standing fascination with frontier technologies and science fiction-inspired innovation, Riparbelli relocated to London to build transformative technology companies. During his first year, he worked independently, collaborating with academic researchers on machine learning and advising government bodies and major enterprises, primarily in the VR and AR sectors. A pivotal moment came when he met his future co-founder, Matthias Niessner, whose groundbreaking research in AI-driven, hyper-realistic video generation inspired a bold new vision for the future of content creation.

This partnership led to the founding of Synthesia in 2017. Under Riparbelli’s leadership, Synthesia has grown into a global leader in AI-powered video generation, enabling enterprises to create scalable, high-quality video content without traditional production constraints. The company gained significant enterprise traction by 2021 and reached a major milestone in June 2023 with a $90 million Series C round led by Kleiner Perkins and Accel. In February 2025, Synthesia announced the successful close of a $180 million Series D round, bringing its valuation to $2.1 billion.

Riparbelli earned a BSc in Computer Science and Business Informatics from IT-Universitetet i København (2012-2015). As part of his studies, he also completed coursework in Computer Science and Management Science at Stanford University in 2015.
