Sheree Atcheson

Sheree Atcheson is a Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Senior expert, international multi-award winner, and respected thought leader in the tech industry. Born in Sri Lanka and adopted at three weeks old by a working-class Catholic family in Northern Ireland, her lived experience as a person of colour in a majority-white community has deeply shaped her mission, to challenge and dismantle systems of exclusion across corporate and societal landscapes.

Currently serving as the Global Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Valtech, Atcheson previously held senior DE&I roles at Deloitte, Monzo, and Peakon. Her work spans multiple regions, where she develops data-driven, scalable DE&I strategies that drive meaningful change and lasting accountability. Atcheson is recognised by the FT and Computer Weekly as amongst the most influential women in tech in the UK, Sunday Business Post’s 30 under 30, Management Today’s 35 under 35 and One Young World’s 40 under 40, amongst many other accolades.

Atcheson is the author of Demanding More, a book that unpacks the historical roots of exclusion and provides readers with tools to build deliberately inclusive cultures. As a long-time advocate for women in tech, Atcheson launched and led the award-winning UK expansion of Women Who Code in 2013 and now serves on its Advisory Board. Atcheson has also founded the organisation I Am Lanka, which showcases global movers and shakers who are from or have grown up in Sri Lanka and is a regular contributor to Forbes magazine.

Atcheson attended Queen’s University in Belfast to study a BEng in Computer Science, where she completed a placement year as a Software Engineer at a local Northern Ireland software firm.
