Ryan Levesque studied neuroscience and East Asian Studies at Brown University and built a successful finance career in China with AIG but walked away from it all after the 2008 financial crisis. He started his first business from a 400-square-foot Hong Kong student apartment, teaching people how to make Scrabble-tile jewellery. From there, he went on to build ventures across 23 niche markets. That unconventional apprenticeship shaped a worldview that now underpins his philosophy: leverage beats hustle, and the smartest founders don’t work harder, they work structurally differently.

Levesque’s own turning point came after a near-fatal health crisis caused by the grind of one-to-one consulting. Forced to rethink his model, he engineered the “Hybrid Expert” approach.
