Nouriel Roubini

With a career spanning leading institutions in government, academia, and finance, Dr Nouriel Roubini has established himself as one of the world’s most prominent voices on global economic and financial affairs. He gained international prominence for his prescient warnings about the vulnerabilities that ultimately contributed to the 2008 global financial crisis. His analysis of systemic risk and financial instability established him as one of the most influential and forward-looking voices in global economics.

Throughout his career, Dr Roubini has held senior policy, research, and advisory positions with some of the world’s leading economic institutions, including the White House Council of Economic Advisers, the US Department of the Treasury, the International Monetary Fund, the Federal Reserve, and the World Bank. He also co-founded Roubini Global Economics (RGE), a prominent provider of global economic and financial analysis. He is Chairman and CEO of Roubini Macro Associates, LLC, a New York-based consultancy specialising in strategic macroeconomic and geopolitical analysis. He also serves as Senior Economic Strategist to Hudson Bay Capital and Chief Economist and Portfolio Manager at Atlas Capital Team. He is Professor Emeritus of Economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

A prolific author and commentator, Dr Roubini has written extensively on global finance, systemic risk, economic policy, and the forces transforming the international economy. His books include Megathreats: Ten Dangerous Trends That Imperil Our Future and How to Survive Them, Crisis Economics, Bailouts or Bail-ins?, and Political Cycles and the Macroeconomy. His views and analysis have been featured prominently in publications including The New York Times and the Financial Times.

Dr Roubini holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan.
