Manoj Pradhan

Manoj Pradhan is the founder of Talking Heads Macroeconomics, an independent research firm based in London. Established in 2016 alongside co-founder Charles Goodhart, former member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee and Professor at the London School of Economics. Talking Heads Macroeconomics blends applied and academic thinking to offer unique perspectives on macroeconomic developments and asset pricing. The firm specialises in generating medium-term (6–12 month) macroeconomic trade recommendations by connecting current events with powerful long-term structural trends.

Prior to founding Talking Head Macroeconomics, Pradhan was Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he led the Global Economics team. Before joining the financial sector in 2005, he held academic positions at the Department of Economics at George Washington University and the State University of New York. His research and advisory work focus on thematic global macroeconomics, particularly in emerging markets.

In 2019, Pradhan co-authored The Great Demographic Reversal: Ageing Societies, Waning Inequality, and an Inflation Revival with Charles Goodhart. The book offers a forward-looking analysis of key demographic and economic shifts shaping the global economy. Notably, it warned of a structural resurgence in inflation driven by ageing populations and the retreat from globalisation – predictions that have since materialised with striking accuracy.

Pradhan holds a PhD in Economics from George Washington University and a Master’s in Finance from the London Business School.
