Lynette Tan is shaping how Asia builds its place in the global space economy. While much of the industry focuses on hardware and launches, her work focuses on what sustains progress: talent, skills and systems that last.
As CEO of Space Faculty, Lynette Tan leads programmes that move people from interest to industry. Space Faculty trains teams in satellite development, supports space-science research, and runs large-scale challenges that expose young people to real engineering problems. Flagship initiatives such as the International Space Challenge and the Space Internship Programme have engaged tens of thousands across nearly 100 countries, with Asia at the centre.
Tan believes the biggest constraint on the space industry is not technology, but imagination. That belief shapes her work. Her aim is to ensure Asia is not merely participating in the space economy, but actively defining it. She builds agile teams, develops industry roadmaps for governments and institutions, and connects education with real workforce demand. Under her leadership, Space Faculty works with schools, universities, startups and global organisations to create space capability where it did not previously exist.
Lynette Tan is a strong voice for STEM education, especially for youth and women. A Karman Fellow and advisor to deep-tech startups worldwide, she is also a mentor to emerging leaders across business and aviation. Her work has helped position Singapore as a credible contributor to the global space ecosystem. Named a Trailblazer on the inaugural Singapore 100 Women in Tech List, Tan is known for calm leadership, clear thinking and a willingness to step into the unknown. She builds foundations and is focused on one outcome: preparing people to shape the future, not just react to it.
