Kim Scott is the author of Radical Respect: How to Work Together Better and the New York Times bestselling Radical Candor: Be a Kick-Ass Boss Without Losing Your Humanity. She is also the co-founder of Radical Candor, LLC, a company dedicated to helping people cultivate more effective, human-centered workplace relationships. Through her writing, speaking, and coaching, Scott empowers leaders and teams to communicate more openly, build trust, and create environments where people and ideas thrive.
Her first book, Radical Candor, introduced a simple yet powerful framework for caring personally while challenging directly. The book has sold over a million copies, been translated into 23 languages, and become a cornerstone of modern leadership development. It provides practical tools to help managers fulfil their core responsibilities: fostering a culture of feedback, building cohesive teams, and achieving outstanding results. In Radical Respect, Scott builds on this foundation by addressing one of today’s most pressing workplace challenges: creating cultures of belonging, collaboration, and fairness.
Scott’s expertise is grounded in decades of experience as a leader and coach in the tech industry. She has advised executives at some of Silicon Valley’s most influential companies, including Dropbox, Twitter, and Qualtrics. Before becoming a sought-after CEO coach, she was a member of the faculty at Apple University, where she helped leaders think more deeply about their roles and responsibilities. At Google, she led teams at AdSense, YouTube, and DoubleClick, playing a key role in scaling revenue while maintaining a strong team culture.
Earlier in her career, Scott took on unconventional roles such as managing a pediatric clinic in Kosovo and starting a diamond-cutting factory in Moscow. Today, Scott continues to share her insights through keynote speaking, workshops, and her podcast, Radical Candor. She lives in Silicon Valley with her family.
