Keith B. Carter

Keith B. Carter is the CEO of KDA Capabilities, where he leverages over 30 years of experience in business and technology to drive emerging technology capability building and thought leadership with both business and academic leaders.

Previously, Carter was an award-winning Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Computing. He also taught at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy on topics including artificial intelligence, privacy, and cybersecurity. He served as the Founding Director of the NUS Ripple FinTech Lab and Founding Co-Director of the Crystal Centre, a deep-tech blockchain research center. He also launched the NUS FinTech Society and created NUS FinTech SG, a nationally recognised mid-career conversion program.

Before his academic tenure, Carter spent 12 years at Estée Lauder, where he led global supply chain innovation. He helped scale the organisation’s spend from $1 billion to $3 billion while increasing Return on Invested Capital from 7% to over 25%. As Chair of the IT Systems Steering Committee, he spearheaded Actionable Intelligence initiatives that delivered $87 million in value within nine months. He also helped establish global Sales and Operations Planning and standardised enterprise performance metrics.

Carter began his career in consulting with Accenture, working on trading desks at Solomon Brothers and Goldman Sachs, as well as leading a record-breaking data migration and performance project for the New York State Government.

Carter holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Computer Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s from Cornell University. Outside of work, he is a certified counter-terrorism professional, a licensed private pilot, and an expert-level snowboarder.
