Karen Silverman

Karen Silverman is a leading global expert on practical governance strategies for artificial intelligence and other frontier technologies. As the CEO and Founder of The Cantellus Group, she advises Fortune 50 companies, startups, industry consortia, and public sector organisations on responsible oversight and integration of emerging technologies.

Silverman brings over two decades of experience from Latham & Watkins LLP, one of the world’s leading law firms, where she held senior leadership roles and counselled multinational clients on antitrust, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, ESG, and crisis management. Her prior roles include Office Managing Partner of the firm’s San Francisco office and Co-Chair of its Information Technology – Systems & Solutions Industry Group.

Silverman has a long history of management experience, having served in leadership positions with the American Bar Association, the California State Bar, and the IEEE. She is a World Economic Forum Global Innovator, a member of the WEF Expert Network, a subject matter expert to the Business Roundtable, and sits on the Fast Company Impact Council. She also serves on the boards of AIEDU and Not For Sale and is an Advisory Board member of Legal Momentum.
