Jin Chang

Jin Chang is the CEO and co-founder of Fieldguide, an AI-powered workflow automation and collaboration platform purpose-built for risk advisory and assurance firms. Drawing on his background as a CPA, technologist, and first-generation founder, he brings deep expertise in AI, audit innovation, and the evolving future of professional services.

Chang began his career at Ernst & Young, where he spent five years as a Big Four practitioner focused on audit and advisory services. During this time, he recognised the transformative potential of modern software and AI to reshape the assurance industry. In 2020, after joining forces with co-founder and CTO Chris Szymansky, Chang co-founded Fieldguide to modernise the advisory and audit profession through intelligent automation and collaboration technology.

Before founding Fieldguide, Chang served as Chief of Staff at Atrium, where he helped scale cross-functional operations across finance, technology, and business strategy. He led company-wide initiatives and supported the company’s $75 million fundraising efforts from leading investors including Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and Greylock. In 2017, Chang co-founded Bitbutter API, a blockchain aggregation API designed to help developers build cryptocurrency fintech applications. Originally launched as Lydia Tax, a “TurboTax for cryptocurrency”. The company pivoted after Chang identified a larger opportunity in enabling broader crypto adoption through developer infrastructure. The company was backed by the Berkeley SkyDeck.

Under Chang’s leadership, Fieldguide has become a trusted AI partner to nearly half of the top 100 CPA firms, helping firms unlock capacity, improve audit quality, and elevate practitioner experience through intelligent automation. His contributions to the profession have been recognised by Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People list and CPA Practice Advisor’s 20 Under 40 recognition.

Chang holds an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California.
