As an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School, Jennifer Turliuk is advancing the intersection of climate and artificial intelligence by developing ideas that will shape the next wave of innovation. Turliuk recently completed her mid-career MBA at MIT, where she co-developed AI tools adopted by the US Department of Energy, the MIT Climate Policy Center, and modelling systems like En-ROADS. She now focuses on the real-world applications of AI for climate and energy solutions.
Jennifer Turliuk’s course AI for Energy Solutions at MIT drew over 1,000 applicants from NASA, FERC, NREL, and other leading institutions. With support from an MIT grant, the course is now being adapted into an asynchronous format for MIT Open Learning, expanding access to her insights on how AI can help optimise energy grids, model climate scenarios, and accelerate the transition to net zero.
A builder, investor, and educator, Turliuk has spent more than 15 years at the frontier of innovation. As a former Partner at Climate Capital Syndicate, one of the world’s most active climate tech investors with 350+ portfolio companies, and co-lead of Climate Angels, she helped mobilise early-stage funding into high-impact ventures. Jennifer Turliuk’s entrepreneurial background includes founding and exiting an edtech startup that worked with Intel and reached thousands of learners.
Jennifer Turliuk is among the few thinkers actively exploring the fusion of AI and quantum computing for climate solutions. She has spoken at Davos, COP29, TEDx, and MIT and articulates a clear-eyed view: while artificial intelligence can help us make better decisions faster, quantum computing could unlock problems we don’t yet know how to solve. Grid optimisation, next-gen battery materials, advanced climate modelling, and agricultural redesign are use cases waiting to be accelerated.
Her thought leadership has been featured in The New York Times, Fast Company, Wired, Huffington Post, and more. Turliuk has also written for Forbes, VentureBeat, and Business Insider, and serves as a board member, advisor, and mentor to startups building the next generation of climate solutions.
