Hian Goh

Hian Goh is the Co-Founder of Openspace Ventures, where he has played a pivotal role in establishing the firm as one of Southeast Asia’s leading venture capital platforms since its inception in 2014. He serves on the Investment Committees of both the Openspace Ventures and Openspace Growth Funds, as well as the firm’s Executive Committee.

Goh led the first institutional fundraising round for Gojek and now represents the firm on the Boards of some of the firm’s fastest-growing investments. An accomplished entrepreneur, he previously founded the Asian Food Channel (AFC), a 24-hour pay-TV channel dedicated to Asian cuisine and lifestyle. Under his leadership, AFC grew into a regional media powerhouse before being acquired by US media company Scripps Interactive for US$66 million in 2013.

Earlier in his career, Goh was a technology investment banker with SG Warburg (now UBS) and Salomon Smith Barney (now Citi). He brings over two decades of experience across entrepreneurship, media, and financial services.

Beyond his role at Openspace, Goh serves on the Portfolio Management Committee of A*STAR and was formerly a board member of the Singapore Science Centre. He is also a co-host of Unreasonable, a podcast where he and fellow venture capitalists explore the bold and unconventional ideas shaping the world across domains such as economics and politics.

Goh is a Kauffman Fellow and holds an MBA from INSEAD (Singapore campus) and a Bachelor of Arts in Law from Trinity College, Oxford.
