David Gurle

David Gurlé is a French entrepreneur and engineer, credited as one of the pioneers of IP communications.

In April 2026, he launched Antimatter, the first vertically integrated neocloud built for the AI inference era. He believes that in the age of AI, intelligence is not the bottleneck. Energy is. Rather than build centralised hyperscale campuses, Antimatter deploys modular micro data centres beside existing power sources and connects them through a proprietary distributed software layer. Inference capacity that typically takes two-plus years to bring online is delivered in five months. On launch day, Antimatter was cash-flow positive with 3,400 GPUs in the field and over a gigawatt of power secured across the US, Europe, and the Gulf.

Central to Antimatter is Policloud, the modular micro data centre network Gurlé founded in 2025. Already operating across France, the Gulf, and the US before the merger, it forms the physical backbone of the combined business.

The career behind these ventures spans thirty years of consequential infrastructure work. At Microsoft, David Gurlé founded the Real-Time Communications business that became Teams. Later at Skype, he ran the enterprise division and steered its sale to Microsoft. Thomson Reuters came next, where he shaped how financial institutions shared information across borders. Then Symphony, a secure and compliant messaging platform for capital markets that Gurlé founded in 2014. Symphony eventually scaled to a $1.4 billion valuation with backing from JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and Citadel.

Awarded the Légion d’Honneur for his contribution to France’s competitiveness in digital innovation, David Gurlé remains one of the most decorated figures in European technology. A founding member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s International Technology Advisory Panel in 2016, his influence extends well beyond the companies he has built.
