Dr Claudia Winkler is a negotiation and communication expert.
Originally from Austria, she holds an MA and PhD in European and International Law, receiving an LL.M. from Harvard Law School as a Fulbright Scholar. Whilst at Harvard, she trained extensively with the Harvard Negotiation Project – an organisation renowned for its development of “principled negotiation”, as described in “Getting to YES: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In”, the ground-breaking work by Roger Fisher, William Ury and Bruce Patton.
Post Harvard, Claudia Winkler started work at the European Commission and then the New York International Arbitration Center. Not long after, she returned to Europe with the ambitious goal of making negotiation training a firm part of legal education and practice. Back in Europe, Winker acted as General Counsel at SMART Recruiting Technologies, before joining CDRC Vienna, where she was a director from 2015 to 2020. At CDRC, Winkler enacted her ambition, building up from the world’s leading mediation and negotiation competition based on the case of the Willem C. VIS Moot.
Today, she is founder and CEO of Negotiation Academy LLC, a leading Negotiation Training company based in Singapore. The academy is widely recognised for its extensive experience in devising and delivering bespoke training solutions for Fortune 500 companies and Tier 1 law firms globally.
Her interactive talks are outcome-oriented and designed to create training solutions. Over the years, Claudia Winkler has helped more than 5,500 individuals boost their negotiation skills and gain an edge in their businesses or career.
She has conducted online workshops in 147 countries, speaking in-person across Europe, the US, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Australia. An esteemed speaker at legal and business conferences around the world, she has shared a stage with leading personalities like Hugh Hilton, Michael Douglas and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
To date, Claudia Winkler has inspired audiences of over 2,500 people to access the power of negotiation for their personal and professional goals.
