Chris Skinner

Chris Skinner is a best-selling author and one of the most influential voices in fintech.

His blog, thefinanser.com, is widely-read by finance professionals. Skinner draws on his experiences establishing one of the world’s first mobile banks and examines how the landscape is changing.

Skinner is an adviser to business leaders and CEOs globally.  He has spoken at the United Nations, the White House and the World Economic Forum. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Payments Association in 2023 in recognition of his contributions to the sector.

Spring 2024 will see the release of Skinner’s eighteenth book, Intelligent Money. This examines the impact of generative AI on the finance industry. His former works include Digital for Good which sets out a framework for aligning technology and finance in tackling today’s ESG challenges, and Doing Digital which breaks down digital transformation strategies used by top global banks.

Chris Skinner has also been recognised as an inspirational leader by The Mad 33 List for his role in driving change and transformation. He has governance roles at 11:FS and WP Communications and he is a keen colloborator with other leading lights of the fintech industry like Leda Glyptis.

Alongside his corporate work, Skinner also teaches on fintech. He is a visiting lecturer at Cambridge University where he originally studied for a degree in mathematics. He is also invited to speak on the topic by other illustrious academic institutions around the world.

Beyond his fintech passions, Skinner is also a children’s author and co-founder of The Portrait Foundation with Basia Hamilton, promoting arts education among young people.
