Anton Osika

A physicist-turned-entrepreneur, Anton Osika’s interest in technology began at an early age. Fascinated by how things worked, he spent much of his childhood taking apart gadgets and teaching himself programming after being inspired by films like The Matrix. By the age of 12, he was building computer games and learning to code through books borrowed from the library.

He later graduated from KTH Royal Institute of Technology with a degree in Engineering Physics and initially considered a career in academic research. During this time, he conducted particle physics research at CERN, where he developed a strong analytical foundation and a deep appreciation for complex systems.

Osika transitioned into the startup ecosystem by joining Sana as a Founding Engineer, helping to build scalable AI recommendation systems during the company’s formative years. In 2020, he co-founded Depict.ai alongside Oliver Edholm. As CTO, he led the development of the company’s AI-driven visual merchandising platform for e-commerce, helping Depict.ai gain acceptance into Y Combinator and secure funding from investors including Tiger Global and EQT Ventures.

In late 2023, Osika launched Lovable, inspired by an open-source side project called GPT Engineer that he developed shortly after the release of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Built around the belief that software creation should be accessible to everyone, Lovable enables users, including those without technical backgrounds to create applications through simple conversational prompts. Under his leadership, Lovable has become one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI startups, achieving unicorn status within months of launch and rapidly scaling its global user base.

Beyond his work in AI, Osika is also a signatory of Founders Pledge, committing a portion of his future earnings to highly effective charitable causes.
