Anna Ong

Anna Ong is a storyteller, coach, and entrepreneur who believes in the transformative power of stories to foster human connection and personal growth. A former banker turned storytelling coach, she combines her corporate experience with her passion for narrative to help individuals and organisations communicate with purpose and authenticity.

Ong discovered her love for live storytelling in 2018 while performing improv with Magnet Theater in New York City. Since then, she has shared her stories on renowned stages such as The Moth in New York and Story District in Washington, D.C.

Before embarking on her storytelling journey, Ong spent 15 years in the financial services industry, holding leadership roles across sales, relationship management, business management, strategy, and operations. After leaving the corporate world, Ong founded What’s Your Story Huh (WYSH), a professional development company that uses storytelling and improvisation to cultivate soft skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. She is also the founder and host of What’s Your Story Slam, Singapore’s longest-running live storytelling show, where she curates stories, coaches storytellers, and builds a vibrant community around the art of personal narrative.

In addition to her work with WYSH, Ong serves as a business coach and mentor for the Cartier Women’s Initiative, a global program supporting female-founded social enterprises. One of her coachees was awarded the Laureate for South Asia in 2019.

Ong is an accredited and certified coach, she holds an MBA from INSEAD and a certificate on Social Impact Storytelling from Georgetown University.
