Amrita Sen is an energy economist and market strategist. She is the Founder and Director of Market Intelligence at Energy Aspects, one of the world’s leading independent energy research firms.

Under her leadership, Energy Aspects has become a globally recognised authority on oil, natural gas, carbon markets, geopolitics and the energy transition. Today, the firm advises more than 700 organisations across the energy, financial and public sectors.

Over more than 15 years, Sen has built a reputation for analysing global energy markets. She specialises in crude oil, refined products and the geopolitical forces shaping commodity markets. Governments, central banks, institutional investors and senior executives regularly turn to her research to navigate an increasingly complex global energy landscape.

Before founding Energy Aspects, Amrita Sen was Chief Oil Analyst at Barclays Capital. There, she earned recognition for her rigorous market analysis and forecasting. She has also held research positions at the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies and the Atlantic Council, and is a Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute.
