Alice Chen is the Co-founder & General Counsel of InvestaX and IX Swap. InvestaX is a leading tokenisation SaaS platform in Asia with a CMSL and a RMO license issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, offering a one-stop shop for the issuance and trading of real-world assets and security tokens. IX Swap is a Decentralised Exchange (DEX) and a DeFi liquidity pool solution (automated market maker) for tokenised real-world assets.
Chen spent over a decade in private practice with firms such as Skadden Arps and DLA Piper prior to her entrepreneurial journey in 2015. Chen began her career at Lateral Link, where she served as Director of International Placements. She then served as the Director of Special Projects at ACCESS and became a Foundation Council Member for GITA (Global ICO Transparency Alliance). Chen is the current Chair of the Digital Financing Subcommittee of the Singapore Fintech Association.
Pioneering a new industry requires Chen to constantly engage with regulators, policymakers and multilateral agencies across markets. Chen is actively engaged in the startup communities in Singapore and beyond. She is a regular speaker, presenter and mentor in the areas of Fintech, blockchain, and entrepreneurship. Chen is a regular guest lecturer for Singapore Management University’s graduate course in Digital Assets and Blockchain where she teaches an IBF accredited course on Blockchain and Digital Securities.
Chen also plays her part in empowering women through her involvement with 100 Women in Finance, and as an advisor and mentor for the next gen of Web3 founders. Among other awards and achievements, Chen was awarded Top 10 Fintech Leader at the 2022 Singapore Fintech Festival as well as Top 100 Global Women in Fintech (2023 & 2024) by Fintech Magazine.
Chinese American by nationality, Chen has spent the last 17 years in Asia, including Japan, China and the last 12 years in Singapore. Chen obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California and is licensed to practice law in the State of California, United States.
